European Equality Partnership

Chwarae Teg managed this partnership of equality experts, with funding support from the Welsh Assembly Government/ERDF from 1997 to 2005.  The partnership promoted good equality practice in the European Structural Funds and supported development of the equalities content of the Programme documents; trained WEFO assessors, local authority European/Equality officers and voluntary sector European advisers.  The partnership also wrote two sets of equality guidelines ‘Equal Opportunities Guidelines for European Programmes in Wales', which were designed to explain how projects should tackle mainstreaming in relation to the Structural Funds; and ‘Applying for European Structural Funds in Wales - Equal Opportunities Additional Guidance for Applicants and Assessors', which illustrates how assessors and applicants should consider the equality input in applications.
