A new awards programme for women running their own businesses in Wales has been launched by former Welsh Woman of the Year, Sarah Cornelius.
25th August 2009
The Welsh Women Mean Business Awards, sponsored by Go Compare.com with Principal Partners Sony UK Technology Centre, will be organised by Sarah's new business, Shram Event Management, based in Cardiff Bay. Sarah is more well known for her role as chief executive of The Joshua Foundation, a charity which provides experiences for children with cancer which is named in memory of her son Joshua, who died 10 years ago.
The awards are specifically targeted at women owner-managers running small and medium enterprises and highly successful women entrepreneurs who have turned a great business idea into a reality or developed an existing business into a thriving enterprise. Sarah said: "We are looking for women in business that have made a difference by showing creativity, determination, dedication, courage and, of course, entrepreneurial skills and talent. The sort of women we are inspired by and stand as role models for others entering the world of business."
The glittering awards ceremony will be held on Friday November 27th, 2009 at the Swalec Stadium, Cardiff.
