Agile Nation North Wales Open Day

7th September 2009

Chwarae Teg is throwing open the doors of its Colwyn Bay office on 15th September, inviting local businesses and employees to come along and find out how they can do better in business and benefit from the Agile Nation project.

The organisation, which is the leading professional agency for the economic development of women in Wales, is running an open-day to provide individuals and organisations alike the opportunity to find out what the Agile Nation project can do for them.

Agile Nation aims to tackle the difficulties faced by women in the workplace.

The £12.5m project, funded by the European Social Fund and the Welsh Assembly Government, helps women achieve their full potential by addressing gender equality and promoting career progression.  The project also works with employers to encourage the take up of flexible working.

Throughout the day, employers, potential employees and employees themselves can take advantage of the opportunity to participate in one-to-one sessions with Agile Nation team members, and get a taster for some of the courses available via the project in mini-workshops.

The day will also provide delegates with the chance to meet the newest addition to the North Wales team, Susie Ventris-Field, who has recently been appointment as project training officer for Agile Nation, bringing with her an impressive range of training experience.

Chief executive of Chwarae Teg, Katy Chamberlain said; "This open day is a great opportunity for women to come along and see what Agile Nation can offer them.

"By having an informal chat with our team over a coffee and a biscuit, they can discover the range of flexible training and support we offer to help women develop and enhance their careers."

"Employers and organisations can also come along to discover how we can help them with flexible working arrangements, team mentoring and cultural change processes to name a few."

The Agile Nation open day will take place on September 15th and will run from 8am to 6pm, at the Chwarae Teg office, Colwyn Bay.
