International Ada Lovelace Day

Friday the 7th October is international Ada Lovelace Day, it's a celebration of the achievements of women in science, engineering and maths.

1815 - 1852 

Ada was an English writer renowned for her work on Charles Babbage's early mechanical general-purpose computer. Her work on the engine is widely recognised as the first algorithm intended to be processed by a machine which has led her to be known as the "World's First Computer Programmer".
